GETTING PLANNING CONSENT
Brent planners insisted that Berkeley should build live work units on the site which was formerly zoned for employment uses. They also dictated the amount of amenity space that would be available in the development.
No public funding or assistance. Funded from the company's own reserves.
TARGET MARKET: young professionals looking for a mix of living and working space and aspiring to accommodation in nearby Notting Hill Gate but unable to afford it
No plan to dictate the use of the live work units
WHAT STAGE IS THE PROJECT AT
Due to be launched September 2003
'Six out of 25 sold off plan- prices range from £230,000 for cheapest apartments to £435,000 for most expensive town houses The level of forward reservations we would expect on a normal residential scheme'
The development is centred around a courtyard that runs the length of the development.

Artisan Quarter is Berkeley Homes' first live work venture. Gavin Stewart says: 'This is not something we have got a lot of experience in, but we anticipate this is a market that is going to be increasing.'
