Lakeland authority backs homeworking and workhubs

Allerdale in Cumbria has backed home working as a tool for supporting the rural economy.

Allerdale council’s core strategy, which was published for consultation in June, contains a policy that says the authority will 'support opportunities for home working' alongside the creation of rural enterprise hubs for start up businesses. The strategy also backs live/work units in its site specific policies for the towns of Aspatria and Silloth.
